The Sameiro Sanctuary is a sanctuary of the 19th century.
Braga´s Cathedral
The Cathedral of Braga is one of the most important monuments in
the city of Braga. When something is very old, we say “it’s older than
Braga’s Cathedral”.
The Guimarães Castle, was ordered to be built by Dona
Mumadona Dias in the 10th century in order to defend its
monastery from Muslim and Norman attacks.

The Pena National Palace is the oldest palace inspired by European
Romanticism. It is located in the municipality of Sintra. The palace
stands on the top of a hill above the town of Sintra.

The Joanina Library is the Baroque library of the University of
Coimbra, built in the 18th century during the reign of the Portuguese
King João V (and named after him).
Viseu Cathedral is the bishopric seat of the city of Viseu, in Portugal. The
church started being built in the 12th century and is the most important
historical monument of the town.
The Alcobaça Monastery is a medieval monastery located in the town of
Alcobaça, in central Portugal. It was founded by the first Portuguese King,
Afonso Henriques, in 1153.
The Santa Maria da Vitória Monastery, well known as the Batalha Monastery,
from the 14th century, was built after a vow made by king D. João I (1385 to
1433) to the Virgin Mary, if he would win the Aljubarrota Battle against the
Castilian army.

Padrão dos Descobrimentos is a monument that
celebrates the Portuguese who took part in the Age of
Discovery of the 15th and 16th centuries. It is located
on the estuary of the Tagus river in the Belém parish
of Lisbon, Portugal.
