GYNECOLOGIC ONCOLOGY OVERVIEW Join the largest private multi-disciplinary oncology group in Albuquerque/Rio Rancho. Presbyterian Medical Group (PMG) providers offer medical oncology, hematology, surgical oncology, gynecologic oncology, high-risk, survivorship, and oncology psychology cancer care services. Radiation oncology specialists from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, a world leader in cancer care, provide a wide range of radiation treatment options. Presbyterian Cancer Care is pursuing certification through the MD Anderson Cancer Network® Certified Member Program. We have nurse navigators to support our oncology patients. Presbyterian Cancer Care is hiring gynecologic oncologists. Requirements: We are seeking a fellowship-trained Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gynecologic Oncologist. Candidates should possess excellent clinical and surgical skills, communication skills, and time management skills, along with a strong commitment to providing excellent care that is team oriented. Bilingual English/Spanish is beneficial. Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards is an expectation. Cultural competence is required for diverse patient population. Adherence to principles of Patient– and Family-Centered care model. Patient Satisfaction is a priority and scores are reviewed as a team. Gynecologic Oncology We are fortunate to offer inpatient and outpatient services for women with gynecologic cancers including ovarian/primary peritoneal/tubal, uterine, cervical, and vulvar cancers. Our gynecologic oncologist services include radical pelvic surgeries, robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, and administering intravenous and intraperitoneal chemotherapy. We are recruiting a second gynecologic oncologist to practice at our brand new multidisciplinary cancer center and infusion suite at Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho. PMG medical oncologists, breast surgeons and MD Anderson radiation oncology consultations are all available at the same center. A new oncology inpatient unit will open at Rust Medical Center in 2017. Surgical Oncology Surgical Oncologists with PMG function as part of a true multidisciplinary team. Our facilities in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho offer operating rooms with state-of-the-art equipment. We are recruiting surgical oncologists. Breast Surgery An MD Anderson fellowship-trained breast surgeon joined PMG in July 2016 and a second Yale fellowship-trained breast surgeon starts in early October 2016. General Surgery PMG has a large general surgery group as well as a colorectal surgeon that increases our ability to meet the needs of oncology patients requiring surgery. Sept 2016 The Presbyterian Cancer Program includes Presbyterian Medical Group (PMG) and independent, community practitioners that have medical staff privileges at Presbyterian hospitals. The Presbyterian Cancer Committee adheres to the standards of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Presbyterian Cancer Care is a dynamic community program treating over 1,200 new patients a year: PMG providers offer medical oncology, hematology, surgical oncology, gynecologic oncology, and high-risk, survivorship, and oncology psychology cancer care services. Radiation oncology specialists from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, a world leader in cancer care, provide a wide range of radiation treatment options. Our team offers tailored rehabilitation and extensive supportive care services, including a Patient Assistance Fund to address patient financial needs and an Oncology Dietician. Nurse Navigators mentor patients at the time of initial diagnosis and treatment. Services are provided in the metropolitan area of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, New Mexico, with a population of over 800,000. Our locations include: A comprehensive cancer center at Kaseman Hospital on the east side of Albuquerque A brand new comprehensive cancer center at Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho Dedicated oncology inpatient units, breast clinics, and ORs in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho With robust support from the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, each center includes a Cancer Care Resource Center offering free resources such as wigs, bras, prostheses, pillows, and hats. Presbyterian is an affiliate of Cancer Support Community and offers many supportive, educational, and social activities to anyone in need. A Multidisciplinary Team Approach— Every breast surgery patient being seen by a PMG Medical Oncologist, Radiation Oncologist, or Surgeon is discussed at a weekly Breast Conference Select other cases are presented at a weekly general interdisciplinary Tumor Board including PMG and independent community practitioners Bernard Agbemadzo, MD, and Amit Garg, MD Presbyterian Healthcare Services is a locally owned, not‐for‐profit healthcare system of eight hospitals, a medical group and health plan.
