Musical Drama of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences: My Dear Nature, What a Pity Submit by humas1on June 01, 2011| Comment(s) : 0| View : 5793 Musical Drama as a form of students concern on natural environment "My Dear Nature, What a Pity, My Culture Got Swept, My Soul is Shaken", such is the theme of the inauguration of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Universitas Brawijaya (UB), on Friday (27/5) in UB Gazebo. The event, that has been vacuum since 2007, was crowded. The event is held because of the concern of the students on current condition. Many people sacrifice nature for their own interest. Besides, young generation starts to leave their own culture due to the increasing influence of foreign culture which might not fit Indonesian culture.The Dean of FPIK Prof Dr Ir Eddy Suprayitno MS in his speech appreciates the students of FPIK class of 2010 who have a strong spirit to conserve the nature and the culture. "Through arts, life can be more beautiful. Through technology, life can be easier," Edy said. That's why, the development of technology should not be followed by the decline of culture and the damage of natural environment. With the development of technology, people should conserve the nature and the culture. The essence of inauguration is to keep a good relation and togetherness of FPIK big family and new students. FPIK loves beauty, peace, and harmony between man and nature and culture. "Today's students of FPIK must be smart in responding current condition, all students stay together and keep the commitment to conserve the nature and culture, as said by Taufan as the head of FPIK Student Executive. The inauguration is one of the expressions of harmony between arts and science in FPIK. The event is expected to be continued in the future. There are many benefits that can be felt from the inauguration. All of the audience felt entertained by the dance, music, and drama.
