What is communication?
• Communication- The process of sending and
receiving messages in order to share a
meaning.
• Sending AND receiving= Speaking AND
listening

• What are some ways we communicate?

channel. What are some examples of a

Types of Communication
• Intrapersonal Communication- with yourself
• Interpersonal Communication- with one or
two other people
• Group Communication- 4-10 people
• Public Communication- 10 or more
Things that get in the way of good

• Noise-internal or external
• Context- The surroundings influence what is
being communicated
• Perception-the way you see things
