Constitution of Korea Campus Crusade for Christ in
Rutgers-Newark
Article I - Name
Our club shall be called Korea Campus Crusade for Christ.
Article II - Purpose
The purpose of Korea Campus Crusade for Christ is to focus on Rutgers-Newark students of all
backgrounds to help them firmly establish their identity as Christians and to expose them to the Gospel.
This organization shall also strive to benefit the Rutgers-Newark community by exposing them to
Korean heritage and cultures through various programs, and to also to share our personal faith of
Christianity to anyone who is willing to listen.
Finally, this organization shall strive to work with all the Christian fellowships on campus to bring about
dynamic programs for the campus where we can act as one Christian voice for the whole student body
(Ex. Gospel Week, Friends Night).
This organization shall abide by all applicable laws of the State of New Jersey and the United States.
This organization shall abide by all applicable rules and regulations of the University and under the
privileges as granted by the Office of Student Life and Leadership, Student Governing Association,
Deans, and Dean of Students where chartered. This organization shall also abide by the Board of
Governors, the Senate, and the Dean of Colleges.
Article III - Membership
Section 1:
Membership to Korea Campus Crusade for Christ shall be voluntary and open to undergraduate students
who are interested in helping to achieve the purpose of the organization.
Section 2:
Membership shall be determined by the participation of an individual in meetings and activities
sponsored by the group.
Section 3:
Members engaging in activities and behavior that is disruptive, divisive, or otherwise detrimental to the
function of the organization shall be asked to reconsider membership to the organization. Prior to such a
request, such members will be approached on an individual basis regarding the particular activity or
behavior.
Section 4:
Korea Campus Crusade for Christ shall hold weekly fellowship meetings, involving all members and
interested students. In addition, small group Bible studies shall be held at various times during the week.
Article IV – Non-Discrimination Clause
Membership shall be open to all Rutgers-Newark students (full and part time) and must comply with
federal laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, sex, handicap, age, color, national origin,
ancestry, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientations, or political and religious affiliation.
Compliance with these laws means that membership, benefits, and the elections of officers will not be
made on the basis of these factors.
Article V - Officer
Section 1:
The right to hold office is restricted to active full time registered Rutgers-Newark undergraduate
members of this organization who have a minimum 2.00 Semester GPA and overall GPA during their
active term. Fitness to serve as an officer of a group shall be determined by his or her service to the
group and its members. In addition to service, officers shall be expected to participate in the programs
sponsored by the group as a whole and be a positive spiritual influence on the group.
Section 2:
The term of office for all officers shall run from the beginning of Spring semester to the end of Fall
semester.
Section 3:
The officers of the organization shall consist of the President, Vice-President, General Director,
Secretary, and Treasurer
Section 4:
Title and role description for all officers
A. The duties of the President shall be to call and preside over all meetings and to represent
this organization to the Rutgers-Newark community
B. The duties of Vice-President shall be to assume the President’s duties in his absence, to organize
small group, to organize all off campus activities, and to perform all duties assigned by the President.
C. The duties of the General Director shall be to assume the duties of Vice-President in his absence, to
organize all on campus activities, to attend all Senate Cabinet meetings, and to perform all duties
assigned by the President.
D. The duties of the Secretary shall be to keep an accurate record of business, be in charge of the
dissemination of information to the organization’s members, and maintaining an accurate membership
list.
E. The duties of the Treasurer shall be to handle all financial matters.
Article VI – Election of Officers
Section 1:
Nominations for officers shall take place at the meeting two weeks prior to Thanksgiving break.
Section 2:
Elections for officers shall take place at the meeting two weeks prior to Thanksgiving break. All
elections are to be conducted by secret ballot. A majority is required for election. If no candidate
receives a majority, the candidate with the least number of votes shall be eliminated and a subsequent
ballot conducted until one candidate receives a majority.
Section 3:
Nominations and elections may take place at the same meeting if agreed to by a two-thirds vote. At
weekly meetings, including small group Bible studies, no voting shall take place.
Section 4:
An officer may be impeached by two thirds of active voting members of the organization. Impeachment
of an officer may only be incurred if an officer has failed to uphold his/her responsibilities as stated in
Article V, Section 4.
Article VII – Meetings
Weekly meetings will be held every Thursday evening at 9pm. 15 members constitute a quorum for
weekly meetings. Special meetings may be called for larger student body gatherings (Ex. Gospel Week,
Friends Night, etc.)
Article VIII – Finances
Funding will be sought directly from SGA.
Article IX – Amendments
Amendment 1 – Offering
Weekly offerings will be taken during scheduled meetings based solely upon the student’s willingness to
give. Giving of offering does not affect student membership.
Article X – Ratification
This document may be changed by two-thirds vote of the active voting membership. Any changes shall
take effect upon approval of the Student Governing Association unless a later time was specified at the
time of adoption.
