Lesser feasts and fasts (1997)
Lesser Feasts and Fasts does not assign specific collects to Weekdays in Eastertide. There is a
rotating cycle of collects, and it is assumed that the celebrant will assign the next collect in turn only on
vacant days. However, to leave the collect unassigned was not in keeping with the format of this book.
The editor, therefore, has assigned collects to specific days. The user is advised that the collects for
the weekdays in Eastertide represent the choice of the editor and not the authority of the Church, so the
user is free to select a different collect.

Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect

Refrain.
Happy are they who take refuge in the
Lord.
Refrain.
Praise the Lord, O my soul.
V.
Why are the nations in an uproar? *
Why do the peoples mutter
empty threats?
V.
Happy are they who have the God
of Jacob for their help! *
whose hope is in the LORD
their God;
V.
Why do the kings of the earth rise
up in revolt, and the princes
plot together, * against the
LORD
and
against
his
Anointed?
V.
Who made heaven and earth, the
seas, and all that is in them; *
who keeps his promise for
ever;
V.
“Let us break their yoke,” they say;
* “let us cast off their bonds
from us.”
Refrain.
Refrain.
V.
He whose throne is in heaven is
laughing; * the Lord has them
in derision.
V.
Who gives justice to those who are
oppressed, * and food to those
who hunger.
V.
Then he speaks to them in his
wrath, * and his rage fills them
with terror.
V.
V.
“I myself have set my king * upon
my holy hill of Zion.”
The LORD sets the prisoners free;
the LORD opens the eyes of
the blind; * the LORD lifts up
those who are bowed down;
Refrain.
V.
Let me announce the decree of the
LORD: * he said to me, “You
are my Son; this day have I
begotten you.
V.
Ask of me, and I will give you the
nations for your inheritance *
and the ends of the earth for
your possession.
V.
You shall crush them with an iron
rod * and shatter them like a
piece of pottery.”
Refrain.
Refrain.
V.
The LORD loves the righteous; the
LORD cares for the stranger; *
he sustains the orphan and
widow, but frustrates the way
of the wicked.
V.
The LORD shall reign for ever, *
your
God,
O
Zion,
throughout all generations.
Hallelujah!
Refrain.

¿Por qué se amotinan las gentes, * y

¿Por qué se levantan los reyes de la

“Yo mismo he puesto mi rey *

El Señor libra a los cautivos; el
Señor abre los ojos a los
ciegos; * el Señor levanta a los
caídos.
V.
El Señor ama a los justos; el Señor
protege a los forasteros; *
sostiene al huérfano y a la

Reinará el Señor para siempre, * tu
