Project Management Essentials Duration: One day Description: This ILT Series course teaches the fundamentals of project management. Students learn how to identify project participants, goals, objectives, activities, and constraints. Course activities also cover activity dependencies, activity analysis, project schedules and budgets, network diagrams, Gantt charts, CPM scheduling, and activity duration compression. Students will also learn how to optimize project activities, estimate costs, control project changes, measure project performance, use project performance reports, accommodate change, control the project schedule and budget, and close a project. Course activities also cover defining the project scope, writing a project charter, developing a work breakdown structure, identifying time management components, describing schedule development, using mathematical analysis techniques, and assigning resources. Students will also identify process groups and variables, write closeout reports, and identify different methods of project termination. Students will also discuss the characteristics of a good manager, build and maintain a productive team, and use analysis tools and reports to evaluate the performance of a project.
