This picture was taken between the eighth and ninth century. It is a picture of a medieval manuscript. Charlemagne was born to Pippin the Short and when he died he split his land between his two sons, which was a Franks tradition. Then when Charlemagne’s brother died he became the sole ruler of the kingdom. He kept a very friendly relationship with the pope. On Christmas day in 800, Charlemagne was crowned emperor. Charlemagne was a very important person. He reintroduced the traditions of the Roman Empire by, organizing government, the rule of law, literacy, art, and architecture. The Hundred Years’ War was a series of battles fought between England and France leading many medieval states into mass destruction. In 1415 the English king Henry V led his army into France losing most of his men to illness before meeting the bulk of the French forces near a village called Agincourt. Even though they were down in numbers they still came out victorious because they had the longbow against heavily armored cavalry on Charles VI’s armies. This had social impact because many people died and were very ill. It also had economic impact because they had to pay for all of the repairs of many medieval states. Medieval homage to French king. Wealthier monarchs could afford to hire professional armies and to hire commoners to staff their bureaucracies, which is the collective organizational structure, procedures, protocols, and set of regulations in place to manage activity, usually in large organizations and government. It was away from the conflicts plaguing Rome and Italy. Avignon became a mecca or a place that is regarded as the center of an activity or interest for scholarship during the late medieval period. This a social impact because it was safe from the conflicts affecting Rome and Italy which means the people in Avignon where not affected.Also it became a very popular place because Avignon became a mecca for scholarship. It is an illuminated manuscript depicting the capture of Jerusalem in 1099. This was during the first crusade. The Crusades lasted for several hundred years. It began when Christians from Western Europe wanted to recapture the Holy Land from the Muslims who had conquered it earlier. There was more then one crusade because as soon as the Christians from Western Europe won over Jerusalem, a few years later the Muslims fought back.This has a social impact because in the picture you see many people dying. It could also be economic impact because people had to pay for armor and had to get supplies and be trained to fight a war.
