None Marcy provided an Albany update focused on the None budget; Phil mentioned ability to secure private coverage of excess coverage in his area, if needed. Marcy provided an update on the 3/14 lobby day and key None 2016 priorities including scheduled meetings and key priorities to be highlighted during the day (Excess Med Mal cut, bill to change statute of limitations to date of discovery, legislation to allow physicians to collectively bargain, single payer legislation, a proposal to expand Start Up NY to physicians and other healthcare providers and our support for legislation to repeal non-medical exemptions from vaccine requirements for children and for measures around the public purchase and distribution of recommended vaccines). Marcy updated on the work Lizzie McIntosh has done in None this regard as part of an AAFP project. Working with Vito and Marcy she developed a campaign plan, researched other state laws (CA and Kansas). Together, we developed a letter and sent it to AAP and ACP seeking their support. We are awaiting their decisions. Also we raised this issue late last fall with Stephen Boese Executive Secretary to the State Board of Medicine at SED. The Commission recommends continued support and placement of this on our 2016 Priorities list. Governor’s budget proposal to eliminate prescriber prevails 6 Discussion on Dr. Kaplan asked the Commission to consider changes to Immunization allow for the submission of adult vaccination information to policies NYSIIS without patient authorization but with patient opt out. Also he will bring a Resolution to Congress with Advocacy Commission support to make reporting to NYSIIS for adult vaccinations mandatory as it is for children.
