Monday----Unit 28 Lesson 1 Skill –dge
Students will read and write words and sentences with –dge.
Teacher will directly state –dge says the /j/ sound. The –dge comes at the end of a word. The –
dge must sit next to a short vowel.
Students will write –dge three times on paper.
Students will write the words and sentences on page 28-5.
Students will read BK Story “Hodgepodge”. We will read this together in class.
Spelling Tabs for the following words: edge, judge, just, pledge, bridge. Students will write
them on paper and teacher will check them in class.
Sentence Dictation: 1. The dog will not budge. 2. The edge of the tin can is sharp.
Spelling List: ledge, badge, bridge, edge, judge, pledge, fudge, wedge, smudge, dodge.
Students will be given a new pink book to read.
Tuesday---Unit 28 Lesson 2
Skill: red words: (other, eye)
Teacher will display the words (other and eye).
Teacher will display the following sentence: Here are two hats. One hat is read and the other
hat is blue.
Students will tap the letter names on arm. Students will trace over the word with a red crayon.
Students will read BK Story “Other”. We will read this together in class.
Sentence Dictation: 1. What other bike needs to be fixed? 2. I have other pets?
Teacher will display the red word eye and the following sentence: Close your eyes while I hide.
Students will tap letter names out on arm. Students will write the word on paper.
Sentence Dictation: 1. Bill has a patch on his eye? 2. Did you rub your eye? 3. His eye is red.
4. I saw the cat eye the fish.
Students will read BK Story “Eye”. We will read this together in class.
Jewel Box-Treasure Chest page 28-13---Students will read together in class.
Wednesday----Students will write a study guide for unit 28.
Students will practice spelling words.
Students will begin AR Testing on pink book.
Thursday----Unit 28 Test
Spelling practice test. Students will check each other’s papers.
Students will continue AR Testing on pink book.
Friday---(9:00-9:45 Lexia Reading Lab)
Spelling Test on Unit 28.
Students will finish AR Testing on pink book.
Students can listen to online stories from Barns and Noble.
