1st Slide
Did you know that Corrib can provide up to sixty percent of Ireland’s gas needs at peak
production powering Irish homes and businesses?
2nd Slide
The Corrib development is Ireland’s largest ever energy investment. Over one point one billion
euro has been spent with three hundred world class contractors, sub-contractors and
consultancies. In addition, Corrib has provided over three hundred and twenty million indirect
benefits to the Irish economy through workers’ wages.
3rd Slide
More than six thousand people have worked on bringing Corrib gas to market. An average of
one thousand, two hundred and fifty jobs has been maintained in Mayo, Donegal and Dublin
between 2005 and 2014. Longer term, the Corrib gas field will sustain one hundred and
seventy five high quality long term jobs for the next fifteen to twenty years.
4th Slide
Since 2005, thirteen and a half million euro has been allocated to Community Development in
Erris. This funding has supported one hundred and thirty five local sporting organisations to
deliver sustainable benefits and improve the quality of life. In addition, one hundred and eight
students have been awarded Corrib third level scholarships and eighty students have gained
work experience through paid internships.
