is little difference we can make. What can our offerings in this
congregation do in light of the turmoil, the hunger, the disease,
and the pain in this world? At other times, we feel proud of
ourselves for our generosity. As we give these gifts this day, O
Lord, help us live in the tension between thinking we can do
everything and fearing that we can do nothing. We give in faith
and with faith. In the name of Jesus, who had nothing but
possessed everything. Amen.
Welcome & Announcements
Call to Worship
Come into the sanctuary and look around.
Behold the beauty and splendor of God’s people.
All of us – rich and poor, employed and unemployed
and desperately hanging on.
Behold the beauty and splendor of God’s people.
We believe God’s steadfast love is better than life,
so let our lips praise God as long as we live.
We also often doubt God’s love.
We often doubt that God will really provide when it
matters.
But this is what matters today:
God said, “Come all who are thirsty, come to the water,
and you that have no money, come, buy and eat.”
All of us – rich and poor, employed and unemployed
and desperately hanging on.
So with faith – both bold and timid – let us worship God!

The Benediction
May God, who began a good work in you,
continue to be at work in your life,
guiding, teaching and equipping you
until Jesus Christ returns.
May your love and compassion continue to grow—
a love that is full of knowledge and wise insight,
so that you will be able to recognize what really matters,
and live a pure and blameless life.
May you live a life centered in the Holy Spirit,
a life that bears rich fruit –
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
generosity, faithfulness, tolerance and self-control –
all the good things that come from following the Spirit,
for living this way will bring much glory and praise to God.
