Earth Science Syllabus: Chapter 11 Plate Tectonics

Monday 11/11: Goal- 1. Students will explain the theory of continental drift.
2. Students will describe seafloor spreading.

Homework: Answer the "Thinking Critically" question on page 301 in
textbook. (question 3 under section wrap-up)
Tuesday 11/12: Goal- Students will demonstrate and explain the theory of
continental drift
1. Continental Drift Lab
Homework: Read pages 304-313 in the textbook. Answer questions 1 & 2
under section wrap-up on page 313.
Wednesday 11/13: Goal – Students will relate the structure of the Earth to the
Continental Drift Theory.
1. Notes on plate tectonics.
2. Finish Continental Drift Lab.
3. Reading “Trapped in Time”. (if time permits)
Homework: Answer these questions on a separate piece of paper:
