Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitoring daily job performance of clinical staff members Participation in the evaluation process Effectively managing resources using a multidisciplinary approach Planning, directing, implementing, and improving clinical services Assisting PACU Manager with development of policies and procedures JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Coordinate discharge activity for outpatients and inpatients 2. Maintain nurse to patient ratio, matching patient’s needs with competence of nursing staff 3. Assign breaks and lunches 4. Act as a clinical resource 5. Knowledge of Unit equipment 6. Follow hospital policies and protocols 7. Orchestrate new staff orientation 8. Provide direct patient care 9. Relieves staff for lunch and breaks 10. Practice within Joint Commission, Title 22 and ASPAN Critical Thinking 1. Anticipates patient’s needs and staffing requirements 2. Remain calm in emergent situations 3. Prioritize and multi task 4. Time management 5. Flexible in dealing with change 6.
