English I
Presentations will be on Wednesday, February 15th
1. You will choose a god or goddess from the list on the back to research.
2. Two reliable sources are needed for this project.
Use one educational internet source (either Gale or Britannica)
Use one reference material source
3. Note taking must be completed answering the following questions:
a. What is the Roman name associated with your god or goddess?
b. What symbol is normally associated with your deity?
c. What are the chief traits or attributes of your deity?
d. What role does the deity have?
e. Explain 1 principal tale or legend associated with your deity.
f. What information did you find especially interesting about your deity?
After research is complete, you will be required to:
A. Create a poster with the information on your god or goddess.
This should include:
 At least 2 pictures/drawings/graphics
 his or her Greek & Roman name
 his/her symbol(s)
 1 page of text written in the form of an essay
 All of the questions in #3 must be answered in the summary
 the Works Cited Page to be placed on the back of the poster with your name
B. Give an oral presentation which will be graded on:
 concise, clear wording
 preparation for & understanding of material (Including note taking
questions)
 Explanation and use of poster
Do not simply read your poster to the class!! Take the time to come up with a
presentation using note cards but not relying on them.
