No. L 6493 Act 36 of 1947 ACTIVE INGREDIENT Permethrin (Pyrethroid) Tetramethrin (Pyrethroid) Piperonyl butoxide (Synergist) 3 gm/Kg 1 gm/Kg 6 gm/Kg PRODUCT INFORMATION This product is a ready-to-use insecticidal emulsion that requires shaking before use. It is registered for both indoor and outdoor treatments in the control of ants, cockroaches, fleas, bedbugs, crickets and fish moths. As a contact spray the product has excellent knockdown and kill properties. Treatment of insect runs and harbourages provides good residual activity that continues to control infestations for weeks after the initial spraying of the surfaces. The formulation uses two synthetic pyrethroid insecticides that are well known for their flushing action and can be used in crack and crevice treatments. The formulation also contains a synergist, Piperonyl butoxide that increases the activity of the pyrethroids and plays a vital role in insect resistance management. The synergistic action of Piperonyl butoxide is due to the inhibition of oxidative enzymes in insects that can detoxify the insecticide. The inhibition or blocking of the enzymatic detoxification thus improves the mortality rate and controls resistant populations. The active ingredients in the formulation exhibit low mammalian toxicity and therefore pose a minimum risk when used in domestic, commercial and industrial situations according to the label instruction. We have further improved on the safety of the product by introducing a bottle and trigger system that reduces the risk of accidental discharge, contact and ingestion by children and/or uninformed persons. The active ingredients in this formulation exhibit low mammalian toxicity and therefore pose a minimum risk when used in domestic, commercial and industrial situations according to the label instruction. AREAS OF USE Wefco ACTIVER Ant Spray is used in domestic homes, local authority premises, public health programmes, industry, commercial buildings, warehouses, food preparation and storage areas. Wefco ACTIVER Ant Spray can be sprayed directly onto cockroaches, ants, fish moths, crickets and fleas and other insects for instant effect or onto surfaces for residual control. The spraying into cracks and crevices, holes and other places where insects crawl or hide will assist in flushing out insects. The nozzle can be adjusted from a coarse spray to a jet stream to suit the circumstance. This localized residual surface treatment will not only have long lasting action but is also a useful tool to flush out insects for identification purposes when conducting inspections or audits. Wefco ACTIVER Ant Spray can be applied behind stoves, refrigerators, in cupboards and drawers, food storage areas, on skirting boards, wall/floor junctions, under sinks or other potential harbourages. For ant control follow the trail of the ants as this could identify the point of entry into the premises or their nest entrances. Spraying these entry points/nest entrances will leave an insecticide barrier to repel or kill insects when contact is made on the treated surface. For flea control, spray pets bedding, floors, carpets and the underside of rugs and mats. Insects coming into contact with the insecticides may exhibit hyperactivity. This is due to the contact and stomach action of the pyrethroids that act on the central and peripheral nervous system on the target organisms in very small doses. GENERAL APPLICATION Cockroaches: Treat underside of shelves, drawers and along skirting boards as well as in cracks and crevices or other harbourages. Fleas: For the treatment of small areas it is recommended that a coarse even spray be applied to all skirting boards and wall/floor junctions, floors, carpets, pets bedding and pets favourite resting areas. Bedbugs: Bed bug infestations are on the increase worldwide. It is important that walls or at least a barrier strip be sprayed as part of the program as well as bed frames, mattresses, along skirting boards and the inside of cupboards. The rear of picture frames often harbours the insect and should be checked and sprayed. Fish moths: The spraying of bookshelves, inside of cupboards, draws and other potential hiding places should be treated. Wefco ACTIVER ANT SPRAY leaves a residual deposit that will control many insect pests. However, the length of the residual effect depends on the type of surface treated, When applied outside the house, climatic conditions may influence the results. Re-treat when necessary. OPERATING THE CHILD RESISTANT TRIGGER Depress button on top of shroud and turn nozzle anticlockwise from stop position whilst adjusting desired spray pattern. Reset the security mechanism by turning the nozzle clockwise until button clicks into original stop setting. The bottleneck has been designed with a crown locking and ratchet system to secure the trigger in place. Once the trigger system has been secured in the final position it cannot be removed. This assists in making the product more child proof thereby reducing accidental discharge, contact or ingestion. SEE LABEL FOR FULL DETAILS
