SCHEDULE
Irish National Holstein Show
Friday 4th March 2016
at Pedigree Sales Arena, Moira
Judging commences at 6.30pm SHARP
Judge: Iwan Morgan, Erie Herd, Nantybwla, Carmarthen, Wales
Entry fee - £15 per entry. Closing date for entries is Friday, 12th February 2016
Late entries will be accepted up to Wednesday, 17th February
but will incur an increased entry fee of £25 per head
CATTLE PERMITS APPLY AND ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EXHIBITOR.
CLASSES
1. Heifer born on or after 4th March 2015
2. Heifer born on or after 4th September 2014 and on or before the 4th March 2015
3. Heifer, not calved, born on or after 4th September 2013 and on or before 4th September 2014
Prize Money, classes 1 – 4: 1st £60; 2nd £50; 3rd £40; 4th £30; 5th £20; 6th and onwards £10.
Junior Championship
Junior Champion £100; Reserve £75 and Honourable Mention £50.
4. Dry cow
5. Junior heifer in milk
6. Senior Heifer in milk, having calved before three years of age
Please Note: Entries in classes 5 and 6 will be determined after close of entries
Intermediate Championship
Intermediate Champion £150; Reserve £100 and Honourable Mention £75.
7. Cow in milk having had 2 calvings
8. Cow in milk having had 3 calvings
9. Cow in milk having had 4 or more calvings
10. Cow, in milk or in calf, having produced a minimum of 50,000 kgs in her lifetime.
(Copy of lactation certificate MUST be enclosed with the entry form)
Prize Money classes 5 – 10: 1st £100; 2nd £80; 3rd £60; 4th £50; 5th and onwards £20.
Exhibitor-Bred Championship
Highest placed exhibitor-bred animal in each class (1 – 10) will receive £25.
Champion £150; Reserve £100.
Red and White Championship
Highest placed red and white animal in each class (1 – 10) will receive £25.
Champion: £100; Reserve £50
Supreme Overall Championship
Supreme Champion £300; Reserve Champion £200 and Honourable Mention £100.
Rosettes will be awarded for 1st to 6th place in each class with ribbon awards for the best udders and
best exhibitor-bred animals.
SHOW CONDITIONS

All feed and bedding is the responsibility of the exhibitor.

The Pedigree Sales Arena will be open for the arrival of entries from 10.00am on Thursday
3rd March 2016. Anyone who requires access to the premises on or before the specified
time, must make prior arrangements with the barn manager Gaston Wallace on mobile:
07714 322992.

Animals must be accompanied by the relevant paperwork/permits, and all documentation
must be handed into the show office by 3pm on the date of the show.

The show organisers reserve the right to amalgamate or divide classes at their discretion, or
reduce numbers if over subscribed. The committee ruling in relation to any matters
concerning the event shall be final and binding to all concerned.

Once stalled, animals must remain within the building. Any animal caught outside will be
immediately disqualified from the show.

Handlers must wear white trousers and white shirts in the show ring.

Exhibitors should keep their individual areas clean.

Litter must be must be removed by the exhibitor

A copy of the show rules must be read and adhered to. The exhibitor and fitter agreements
must be completed and returned with entries

Complaints must be made in writing and signed, and lodged with the club secretary on the
date of the show, together with a fee of £25 which is refundable in the event of the
complaint being upheld.
Exhibitor bred – An animal is defined as ‘Exhibitor Bred’ if the prefix of the animal is that
registered to the exhibitor, and the exhibitor was the registered owner/joint owner of the dam at the
time of birth and registration. An animal born as a result of embryo transfer is deemed ’Exhibitor
Bred’ if at the time of embryo collection, the donor female was in sole or joint ownership of the
exhibitor.
Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor Awards
Qualification:
The first ten places in all classes will count.
An exhibitor’s top six places will be taken to make up an aggregate score
Points:
Calves, junior heifers and in-calf heifers
First place = 10 points, reducing by one point for each place with tenth place = 1 point
In-milk and dry cow classes
First place =20 points, reducing by two points for each place with tenth place = 2 points
Points are not awarded for specials, groups and championships
Animals in joint ownership do not qualify for exhibitor-bred status, and are not eligible for points
for the Premier Exhibitor Award.
Breeder Points:
Breeder points are awarded to the breeder of the animal no matter who owns or exhibits the animal.
