Call - Wednesday, May 7th DATE: May 7, 2008 George Rosenbaum Joe Miskulin Tim Rearden Dwayne Hawkins Elizabeth Coats Derek Stansbury Kyle Madden Brain Jansen Rene Deley Matt Wolf Celia Besore Becky Lane Anthony Petillo James Beatty State Farm State Farm Reading Hospital Wal-Mart Wal-Mart Boeing Key Bank Key Bank Fidelity Investments Fifth Third Bank CSAA CSAA Sanofi Pasteur CVS Here are a few ideas that I would throw in for discussion: 1) Discuss the idea of electing/appointing a Membership Chairperson who would work closely with Becky on possible proprietary leads. This person would send out letters on behalf of the Proprietary Counsel to new members, potential members and with members that we do not hear from on a regular basis. In essence, this person would be an ambassador for the CSAA and more specifically, the Proprietary Counsel. James Beatty (CVS) & Joe Miskulin ( State Farm) will work with Becky Lane to put together a welcome packet for new Proprietary members. 2) As Steve Doyle presents the Proprietary Counsel's request to have a voting seat on the CSAA Board of Directors, we need to discuss the qualifications and responsibilities of our representative. Since the Board members pay their way to the Annual Meeting, as well as some planning meetings, it is important that our representative knows going in that there will be some expenses to his or her company. For instance, my management has been vocal about my interest in attending the CSAA Annual Meetings, so I would not be a candidate for this position. Did discuss some qualifications for our voting member if approved. One suggestion was a 2 year commitment. Other ideas will be discussed at the meeting in Nashville. 3) Update on the State Licensing Committee that is gathering information on state requirements that hopefully will be available to all CSAA members by the meeting in Nashville in late June. Several members of CSAA have been working on gathering information on state requirements and will be putting together information to be shared in Nashville. 4) In light of our request to place a member of the Proprietary Counsel on the CSAA Board, I would encourage as many members of our counsel as possible attend the ESX conference, and the Proprietary Counsel meeting on June 24th. If we desire to be seen as a serious voice in this organization, we need to be more visible. The Proprietary Counsel meets in person twice a year (at the Spring ESX and the Fall CSAA Managers Conference) and has 2 conference calls a year. Please consider attending at least one of these meetings and both conference calls to help shape our counsel. *Agenda for Nashville: I believe we wanted to get input from other Proprietary members on topics for the agenda. Let members send there ideas into the forum or to Becky or Celia.
