The Cleveland Clinic Health System is recruiting for 4 Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship clinical specialists
(3 full time and 1 part time).
Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, Full time
The primary responsibilities of the Infectious Diseases Clinical Specialist will be the continued development,
implementation and expansion of antimicrobial stewardship at Cleveland Clinic with an additional focus on Pediatric
ID. The individual will work closely with the ID Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator, ID physicians, microbiologists, and
infection control practitioners. Additional responsibilities will include education of pharmacy residents and students,
involvement in committee work including Antimicrobial Specialty Panel of the P&T committee and the Cleveland Clinic
Health System Antimicrobial Stewardship committee, development and implementation of infectious diseases related
guidelines, protocols and carepaths, participation in multidisciplinary patient care rounds, and infectious diseases
related research.

Fairview Hospital, Full time
Pharmacist must be PGY2 trained in Antimicrobial Stewardship or Infectious Diseases: Coordinated interventions for
improve and measure the appropriate use of antimicrobials by promoting the selection of the optimal antimicrobial drug
regimen, dose, duration of therapy and route of administration. Pharmacist will provide clinical pharmacy services to
patients of all ages within in the specialty area. Interacts with physicians and nurses to make recommendations
regarding drug therapy of patients. Educates staff pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy students, post graduate trainees,
allied health professionals, nurses and physicians in pharmacotherapy within in the specialty area. Performs
pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and provision of pharmaceutical care for patients in the area of service responsibility
in a routine, continuous manner, taking into account the age and clinical condition of each patient. Provides general and
patient specific drug information to patients, physicians, nurses and, and other health care professionals. Interacts
routinely with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to
patients. Supports pharmacists and technicians educational development by participating in departmental staff
development programs and providing leadership in the education of staff involved in providing pharmaceutical care to
patients. Supports staff pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients by direct interaction, as well as formal
educational programs. Supports and participates in pharmaceutical related research in area of specialty. Maintains
expertise in areas of practice through continual learning, journal review and other educational activities. Performs other
duties as assigned.

Requirements: Graduate from an accredited school of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree; completion of a
PGY1 pharmacy residency (or equivalent); completion of a PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency (or equivalent) and
eligibility for Ohio Pharmacy License
