Introduction to Somatic Experiencing (SE)
November 10-- 11, 2012.
10 a.m. -- 6 p.m.
SE, developed by Peter Levine, with the focus on the body, has proved worldwide,
to be a very effective and powerful approach to in-depth healing, esp. of trauma.
Empathetic talk therapy could often re-traumatise people. SE goes to the root
in the gentle tracking of survival responses. It also helps to give a solid base to
other therapeutic approaches and spiritual practices -- towards integration and
wholeness. Sonia was highly appreciated when she came last year for her caring,
sensitivity and mastery.
"…One of the critical aspects in trauma renegotiation is the completion of
incomplete survival responses, in particular, Fight, Flight and Freeze responses.
When Fight/Flight don´t succeed, evolution has given us an advantage in the
freeze/dissociative response of the lower brain (immobility state). Freeze response
mechanisms aren´t very well known.
Humans experience this frozen state as helpless terror and panic. Such a state of
shutdown and paralysis is meant to be temporary, but frequently remains stuck in a
kind of limbo. The person does not fully re-engage in life after experiencing threat
as overwhelming terror or horror. Most of
the time one responds with
hyper-vigilance in situation where there is no danger.
My proposal is to bring more understanding about SE, bring practical exercises in
order to help participants to increase their capacity to manage stress or trauma and
to promote a better quality of Life." --Sonia.

Renegotiating Early Trauma
November 17-- 18, 2012.
10 a.m. -- 6 p.m.
"All of us need to feel ourselves understood and respected as individuals with full ownership of our
own feelings and experiences. When the configuration of the Self is nurtured and supported in its
authentic expression the individual can easily find his/her place in the world. Without clear
boundaries and without respect for and empathy towards the newborn, bonding does not take place.
Bonding, as a basic need, is at the roots of the very Self structure. Deprived of secure bonding
all Self connections (both those linked with others and also those with the world at large)
become fragile and insecure ones.
Throughout childhood, both body and brain remain at levels of incomplete development. The
psychobiological structure available to deal with stress is very fragile and the child can become
traumatized very easily. Early trauma can be deeply rooted in the body, in the mind, in the brain
and also in the energetic field, functioning as a dysfunctional defense for the emerging self.
Trauma causes biochemical disruptions on brain development, among other consequences.
Therapists acquainted with the Somatic Experiencing(SE), can reach out and get access to the
behavioral and experiential repertoire located on top of and around painful experience and of
manifested painful states and are able to help patients exit dissociated states with appropriated force
to deal with emotional frozen states. Hence, clients become able to believe in their sensations as well
as able to rely upon their capacity for containment of those sensations. By doing so they shall be able
to develop into mature adults and capable of learning how to protect their inner child.
The workshop will focus on concepts such as Presence, Containment, Boundaries, Resonance,
and shall cover a review of studies on psychological evolution related to body, brains, body
movements, and cognition.
The workshop aims to demonstrate how therapists can work with SE -- Somatic Experiencing – to
tackle cases of individuals fragmented by traumatic experiences of early bonding or by birth traumas.
Furthermore, it aims to help you to refine your instincts in order to better grasp the experimentation
of inner changes through sensations and feelings, thus optimizing the process of integrating the
experience to consciousness.
C.
Resonance, Intuition and Trauma Healing.
November 24-- 25, 2012.
10 a.m. -- 6 p.m.
"The primary purpose of your relation with your clients is to serve them. Within the therapeutic field,
a wiser way to interact with your client, is to track --making available your highest perception system
to adapt to their needs. In order to increase your capacity to resonate within you need to refine your
intuition.
We will bring the following theories to support this workshop: The Polyvagal theory and NS
modulation;
Hubert Godards' concepts of Orienting to our own proprioceptive sense, Orienting to the Space,
weight;
The Diaphragm. Understanding the Diaphragms an Inter-related dynamic system opens up the
image of CORE.
When the CORE is opened, supported by the stabilizers' systems, we are able to be - at the Present
Moment - in a Neutral State that operates by itself in unison with the client.
We also will use resources as Music, Dance, ritual and mindfulness exercises.
Every step will be enlightened by the SE model."
No pre-requisites for any workshop though it is preferable to have some background
knowledge of Somatic Experiencing.
Fee for single workshop: $2500.
$7000
Fee for 2 workshops: $4800.
Fee for 3 workshops:
