1. Sara’s age is 5 less than 3 times Joe’s age. The sum of their ages is 43. Find their ages.

The perimeter of a rectangle is 76 cm. The length of the rectangle is 2 cm more than
twice the width. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.

A bicycle is on sale at $12 more than half of the regular price. If the sale price is
$75, find the regular price.
4.
The larger of two consecutive integers is 7 greater than twice the smaller. Find
the integers.
5.
Find the three consecutive odd integers such that the sum of the smallest and 7
times the largest is 68.

16 is more than 5 times a number increased by 1. Find the largest possible value of the number.
2)
Twice the sum of a number and 5 is no more than 3 times that same number increased by 11. Find the
smallest possible value of the number.

Jon and Morgan arrive at Sunnybrook Lanes with $14.75. Shoes are available to rent for $1.50 each pair,
and the cost of each game is $2.50. Find the maximum number of games they can bowl.

Carl wants to replace the five windows in the second story bedrooms of his house. His neighbor Will is a
carpenter and he has agreed to help install them for $250. If Carl has budgeted $1000 for the total cost, what
is the maximum amount he can spend on each window?
5)
The final grade for a class is calculated by taking 75% of the average test score and adding to it 25% of the
score on the final exam. If all scores are out of 100 and a students has a 76 test average, what score does the
student need to make on the final exam to have a final grade of at least 80?
