Alzheimer’s Association
This is the first and original 5K Float for Alzheimer’s on the Chunky River. Come join us rain
or shine, as we paddle 5 kilometers for “Alzheimer’s Association” around the famous “7 Mile
Bend” (3.1 miles) on the Chunky River from Chunky landing to Chunky Shoals Fish Camp!
We invite you to attend the Chunky River Raft Race & Festival after the float, where you'll find
Arts & Crafts, Kids Zone, food, live entertainment and t-shirt sales. Delicious BBQ,
Hamburgers and Hotdogs along with other delicious foods will be available for purchase
throughout the afternoon. The famous Chunky Shoals Fish Camp will open at 4:00 for those
looking for full service restaurant overlooking the river. Bring your family and friends, and join
us at the Annual Chunky River Raft Race & Festival. Registration is on site the morning of the
float only. A $10.00 donation to participate is greatly appreciated. Please make personal
checks, cashier's checks or money orders payable to Alzheimer’s Association.
REGISTRATION
Rain or Shine registration will begin at 7:00 AM at both the Chunky Shoals Fish Camp and
the Chunky landing sites. Official launch time is 9:00 AM. Pledges, donations, directions,
waiver & registration forms will be collected at the registration table. We encourage
participants to download the forms from our facebook site and have them ready upon arrival
to keep the line moving. A minimum donation of $10.00 at registration would be greatly
appreciated. Please note all participants MUST register. Even if you are unable to provide a
monetary donation you still must register and sign a waiver form for liability reasons. Each
participant will be issued a waterproof wristband as proof of registration. Porta potties will be
available at the Festival area.
As soon as you register, please see that your drivers unload canoes/kayaks and move their
vehicles to the finish point at Chunky Shoals Fish Camp. DO NOT wait until the last minute to
register and unload your craft. This is important to keep the launch on schedule. Volunteers
will be present at both locations to assist participants with parking and answer any question
you may have.

The float from the Chunky Landing is approximately 3 miles. Depending on the paddler and
water levels, total time on the water averages between 1-3 hours.
Leave no trace. Absolutely no littering! There is free trash removal provided by Chunky
Shoals Fish Camp. Please take advantage of this or pack out what you packed in.
