Summary
IGM-BioProcessing is an innovative production method that generates protein concentrates from leguminous species including
soy bean with a very low level of energy and water consumption. The process is gentle without use of harsh chemicals leaving
the proteins functional. The process enables full use of all fractions of the raw material thereby avoiding waste. The produced
protein concentrates can be used for feed as well as food. Due to the high digestibility the concentrates will have a positive
effect on the nitrogen emission from husbandry. Furthermore the method gives the opportunity to exploit European grown
protein crops thereby creating an alternative to imported soy bean meal. The project includes implementation of IGMBioProcessing at TripleA, Denmark. The production will be initiated with soy beans and is expected to be running ultimo 2013. A
large part of the project concerns cooperation with costumers and fine tuning of the products including feeding trial in different
animal species. Additionally a replication strategy for sublicensing the technology will be drawn up.
Expected and/or achieved results
-
Fully implemented production line for the IGM-BioProcessing method producing the unique soy protein concentrates,
DanSoy® and AlphaSoy® Premium autumn 2013
-
AlphaSoy® Premium FUR has been tested in mink trial showing a digestibility of 87 % and better production results than
control at 2.5 % addition
-
AlphaSoy® Premium FISH has been tested in trout giving a digestibility of 92 % and very god substitution of fishmeal
-
AlphaSoy® Premium CALF has been tested in calf milk replacer for rearing calves showing very good performance
-
DanSoy® has been tested as food ingredient showing a very good water- and fat binding capacity
-
AlphaSoy® Premium PIG will be tested in a large production trial with piglets at weaning at the Danish Research Centre for
Pigs in the spring 2014
-
Testing of AlphaSoy® Premium FISH in Sea Bream in a large scale production trial is running during the autumn 2013
-
A replication strategy for sublicensing of the IGM-BioProcessing technology will be designed during the project
