Life Science Chapter 12: Plants
Anchoring the plant are the roots
which store surplus food,
absorb water
and minerals from soil too.
Stems provide the support,
and they transport
materials
between plant parts.
Plants have cell walls
and cuticles.
Plants use energy from sunlight
to convert carbon dioxide
and make glucose, in a process
known as photosynthesis.
Leaves absorb light and make food
for the plant to consume.
Flowers help some
plants reproduce.
Seedless vascular plants
from ancient lands
became today's
fossil fuels and
we know plant cells
have organelles.
Plants use energy from sunlight
to convert carbon dioxide
and make glucose, in a process
known as photosynthesis.
We know plant cells
have organelles
called chloroplasts
with chlorophyll.
