Identify, name, draw and list all properties of squares, cubes, pyramids, parallelograms, quadrilaterals, trapezoids, polygons, rectangles, rhombi, circles, spheres, triangles, prisms and cylinders. Instructional Objectives: Students will be able to identify parallelograms and describe their properties. Students will be able to calculate the side and diagonal lengths, and angle measures of a parallelogram. Time 10 min 1 min 25 min Activity Warm-up Agenda Preparing for College Entrance Exams min Introduction to Parallelograms Description Pass out the Warm-up and review solutions. Review the goals for the day. Modeling: Pass out the sheet, copied from pg. 164 in the textbook and instruct students to complete. Guiding: Help any students who are confused. Independent Practice: Students will complete the sheet. Assessment: Review solutions. Modifications: Students with special needs will be given a textbook and encouraged to use this as a resource to complete the sheet. Advanced students will be called on when reviewing solutions. Modeling: Review solution to warm-up. Pass out the Properties of Parallelograms Notes sheet and provide students with information to fill in. Guiding: Help students complete the example problems on the back of the notes sheet.
