Propaganda Posters - Summative CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! You have been hired by the propaganda office for the Canadian Army. You will be required to create THREE original posters of your own that would have been used during the early part of the war in 1914. FIRST TASK – drawing/colouring 3 posters: Choose three themes from the following list and create your propaganda poster – using words and images: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Enlistment and Recruiting (encouraging soldiers to enlist in the army) Buying War Bonds (citizens contribute money to the government to support the war) Thrift (saving supplies (like food) in Canada to support the soldiers) Soldiers as Heroes (showing the soldiers fighting and as heroes) Enemy Attack (a negative view of the enemy forces) Your posters must be your own original work, done creatively by hand and in full color, and they should use some of the tricks of propaganda that we talked about in class. SECOND TASK – writing an explanation for each poster: Explain what each of your posters is representing. Answer the following questions for each of your 3 posters.
