Quids 4 Kids Youth Fund Application Form and Bidding Guidance. City West wishes to support young people by utilising some of its resources to invest in the communities and the young people who live there. The Quids 4 Kids Youth Fund is a fund that will be managed by City West’s Youth Empowerment Panel (YEP) and has been created to help individuals and groups to achieve goals and deliver projects of real and lasting benefit to their community. There will be 2 funding rounds for Quids 4 Kids in 2014: Round 1 Open for young people living in Swinton, Little Hulton, Walkden or Worsley. Opens 12th August 2014 Closes 12th September 2014 (All applications must be in by this date) Decisions will be made and applicants will be notified by the end of September 2014. Funding will be awarded by the end of October 2014. Round 2 Open for young people living in Eccles, Irlam or Cadishead. Opens 1st November 2014 Closes 1st December 2014 (All applications must be in by this date) Decisions will be made and applicants will be notified by the end of December 2014. Funding will be awarded by the end of January 2015. Frequently Asked Questions Who is the fund available to? We have 2 types of pots that can be applied for depending on whether you are an Individual or group Individual - A young person aged 16-24 years who wants to achieve a goal or go into further education. Please see the section above for a break down of areas and dates where the funding is available. Group - A group of young people aged 10-24 years old who want to work on a project within their area that will benefit the wider community. Please see the section above for a break down of areas and dates where the funding is available. Who can’t apply? A young person / group outside the age range or not living within the areas listed in the section above. A young person / group who has received funding from Quids 4 Kids within the last 2 years. A young person / group who has received funding from any other City West fund within the last 6 months. A young person cannot apply for the individual fund if they are part of a group that is applying to the group fund and vice versa. Each person can only apply once. A group with less than 4 members. A group that doesn’t have at least one member (or referee that is not a family member) aged 18 or over. A staff member / leader of a group, agency or charity on behalf of an individual or group. The application form must be completed by the individual themselves or a youth member of the group who is not part of the staffing structure on a paid or voluntary basis. What types of projects / training can be applied for? Educational trips Educational course fees (i.e. Lifeguard, Food hygiene) Books Sports kits – All kit that is funded must have the City West and YEP logo on the front Course equipment Project costs Training sessions Activities for young people Environmental projects What can’t be applied for? Days out (theme parks etc) Alcohol / Drugs etc Games consoles Driving lessons or any other associated costs Membership fees Living expenses Standard school / college and sports trips Parties / fun days Religious or political events Activities that have already taken place How much can be applied for? Individual pot – Up to £100.00 Group pot - Up to £250.00 How do I apply? We will consider match funding only when at least 50% of the amount needed has already been secured. We will require proof in writing that the match funding is in place before considering the application. How long does it take? Please see the dates in the first section for all of this information. What feedback will I have to provide? The feedback required will be agreed on each individual application. The minimum we will expect is a monthly update as well as the completion of our mandatory feedback form once the project has been completed. Please be aware that CWHT Staff and the Youth Empowerment Panel reserve the right to change any of the above criteria at any time.
