Things to pack in your checked bag:
*Xerox copy of your passport
*Copy of Traveler’s Check numbers and credit card numbers
*Copy of itinerary in outer zipper pocket of luggage
Washcloths (European hotels usually don’t supply them)
Electrical converter (if you’re using curling irons, shavers, etc)
Camera, extra camera battery and/or recharger
Band Aids (for possible blisters)
Extra pair of reading glasses or your glasses prescription
Several clothespins, laundry line, plastic bottle of Woolite or liquid soap
Tape several threaded needles (dark and light colors) to the inside of your
suitcase.
Travel alarm
Small flashlight
Guidebook
Suncreen lotion, liquid toiletries and makeup
Stain stick (Tide makes them)
Swiss army knife with corkscrew
Things to pack in your carry-on:
*PASSPORT! DO NOT PACK IN SUITCASE! (Keep with you at all times.)
*Cash/Traveler’s Checks/Credit cards (Keep with you at all times.)
*Our hotel information and trip itinerary (Keep with you at all times.)
Compact umbrella and/or fold-up rain poncho
Sweater or jacket (planes can be chilly, especially when you’re trying to sleep)
Monetary conversion chart for your wallet
Phone card (if you plan on calling home once we land at the airport)
Dramamine, both drowsy and non-drowsy formulas, tablets or capsules only
Aspirin or Tylenol, tablets or capsules only
Necessary medications in their original containers
If carrying a syringe, you will need the written prescription
Change of underclothing (and one change of clothing, if you can manage it)
Oral-B Brush-Ups (toothpaste and toothbrush substitute)
Toothpaste and toothbrush (travel size only, under 3 oz)
Hairbrush or comb
Eyeglasses or contact lenses
Sunglasses (an inexpensive pair, preferably)
A good book or personal journal, for the airport as well as the plane
Hard candy or gum (alleviates ear pressure on takeoff and landing)
Inflatable neck rest for sleeping on plane
Hand Sanitizer, towelettes or small travel-size liquid gel (under 3 oz)
All toiletries and medications in your carry-on must be packed in a one-quart clear plastic
zipper bag (a kitchen storage bag is fine) and no liquids over 3 ounces.
