ENCOUNTER the CROSS

1 Cor 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those
who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power
of God.
Luke 23:23-25 But the mob shouted louder and louder,
demanding that Jesus be crucified, and their voices prevailed.
So Pilate sentenced Jesus to die as they demanded. As they had
requested, he released Barabbas, the man in prison for
insurrection and murder. But he turned Jesus over “to them” to
do as they wished.
John 8:36 says: So if the Son has set you free, you are free
indeed.
Col 2:13-14 13 You were dead because of your sins and because
your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you
alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the
record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it
to the cross.
 Go to the cross and ______________________
vs39 One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So
you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and
us, too, while you’re at it!”
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal
life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23 NLT).

vs 40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God
even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 we deserve to
die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your
kingdom.” Vs 43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will
be with me in paradise.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith – and this is not from yourself, it is the gift of God
– 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.”
