when it began

Humanism:
-It was an intellectual movement in Europe at •
the Renaissance period.
-It was in favor of the classics, and it
stimulated the philosophy of secularism, the
appreciation of worldly pleasures, and the
assertion of personal independence and
individual expression.
- It regarded human beings as social creatures
who could create meaningful lives only in
association with other social beings.
It's Features:
-It comes in between of medieval supernaturalism •
and the modern scientific approach
-The avoidance of technical language in the interest
of moral language
-The support of Christian reform
-The concern with the development of political thought
-The belief in the essential dignity of man
-The Focus on the moral and ethical context of classical

Imitation
It is derived from the classical past •
The "imitation" meant "mirroring life "
and following the predecessors
It theoretically meant that the task of the
writer is to translate for present readers the
moral vision of the past
Renaissance literary critics made it clear that
such "imitation" was to be neither mechanical
nor complete
The doctrine of "imitation" recommended
not only the imitation of specific classical
writers, but also the imitation of classical
genres

He also wrote comedies, carnival songs, and poetry. His
personal correspondence is renowned in the Italian language.

Giovanni Pico della Mirandola was an Italian Renaissance
philosopher who studied and summarize the most
important ideas of the philosophical schools known in his
time
Alessandro di Mariano dei Filipepi is an
Italian painter of the Renaissance.
