MANAGER, CORPORATE ALLIANCES Toronto and Central Ontario Region National Office The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Canada, along with its regional chapters, grants the personal, special wishes of children aged 3 through 17, with lifethreatening medical conditions, to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Founded after a group of individuals helped a young boy fulfill his dream of being a police officer, the Foundation is now part of the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 250,000 children. To increase the efficiency and effectiveness with our corporate alliances, in the Toronto and Central Ontario region, the Foundation is seeking an innovative fund raising leader to engage corporations to support our magical mission. Job Summary General Accountabilities The primary role of Manager, Corporate Alliances is to steward, cultivate and manage local supporters in the Toronto and Central Ontario region while identifying and prospecting new corporate sponsors and other value-added opportunities to enhance the good works of Make-A-Wish® Canada. The Manager, Corporate Alliances will work closely with the Development, Marketing and Communications teams, as well as, development personnel from Chapters across Canada to develop, implement and manage corporate fundraising initiatives, in-kind programs and employee engagement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have proven results in prospecting, soliciting, stewarding and managing clients and experience in sponsorship and fundraising. Specific Accountabilities 1. Revenue Development Identify new local corporate sponsorship opportunities in support of the Foundation’s corporate alignment pillars: cash, in-kind, employee engagement, marketing and advertising, cross-promotions Steward and recognize existing corporate partners to generate renewals and identify new local opportunities for alignment and growth (ie. AdoptA-Wish®, Kids for Wish Kids®, local events etc.) Support sales goals by identifying new business opportunities and developing and executing sales presentations Manage prospecting, in collaboration with the, National and Chapter offices 2. Relationship Management Provide superior account management/client services to enhance relationships across all local revenue streams including sponsorship, causemarketing, in-kind, corporate events, philanthropic and employee giving programs Liaise with local corporate partners on a day-to-day basis Work with internal stakeholders (i.e. National, Chapter offices) to develop and/or implement contractual obligations/deliverables and identify opportunities for growth Secure corporate renewals by developing and presenting annual debrief reports Develop and implement stewardship plan (i.e. cheque presentations, recognition etc.) for all regional corporate alliances 3. Administrative Responsibilities Act as the primary “owner” of the Foundation’s local corporate database and Web section, to ensure information is current and correct Develop, implement and manage corporate alliances’ reporting and measurement plan Develop agreements, critical paths and chapter manuals for new and current alliances outlining deliverables/reporting/processes Work with key internal stakeholders to ensure approval of agreements, banking, invoicing and databasing of funds, stewardship and any creative reviews or approvals Evaluate program performance and work with Senior staff to develop yearly regional business reviews, budgets and strategic directions Other duties as assigned 4. Key Challenges Coordination and facilitation between National, Provincial and Local opportunities Managing internal capacity to deliver on deliverables Development of an integrated approach to the corporate marketplace (re: Foundation pillars) 5. Key Qualifications Strong sales and stewardship skills Self-motivated through focused attention on achieving superior service Ability to multi-task through strong organizational and time management skills Superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders Strong analytic abilities to support the planning, execution, evaluation and delivery of corporate programs Ability to network, influence and build strong relationships, in addition to, proactively managing challenges and identifying solutions Follows procedures, policies and protocols and strives to increase efficiency 6. Other Requirements University education and 5+ years successful account management experience with a focus on the corporate sector; Working knowledge of fundraising and charitable giving; Proficient PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Proven data management and analysis skills; Exceptional relationship building management knowledge; Exceptional solicitation, presentation and deck/proposal writing skills; Flexible and dynamic; As well, you must have a valid driving license and the use of a personal car.
