Fall 2001
These items represent a beginning wish list of materials I would ultimately like to
have for my classroom. I know that I will eventually have some of these items as I feel
they are essential in the education and growth of my students. It is not a surprise that
children become more engaged when they feel a sense of ownership, when their learning
styles are supported, when they are active participants, and when the information is
related to their own lives in a realistic way. I think that working with the right materials
is one part of achieving these goals. This list is my starting point for addressing these
processes, following of course, my teaching education (materials don’t mean much if you
don’t know what you are doing, right?)!
