5 POINT ACTIVITIES:
- Write your spelling words in ABC order.
- Make a spelling pizza using all of the spelling words.
- Create a word search puzzle that includes all of your spelling words.
- Write all your spelling words in a continuous line to form a picture or design.
10 POINT ACTIVITIES:
- Write each spelling word five times in your best penmanship.
- Divide each spelling word into syllables.
- Each letter has a value. Consonants are worth 10 and vowels are worth 5. Write your
spelling words then add up the value of each spelling word.
- Make spelling pyramids or spelling ladders for each of the words.
15 POINT ACTIVITIES:
- Write a poem using at least 10 spelling words.
- Create a cartoon strip using at least 6 of the spelling words.
- Draw a pictograph (mind sketch) for each word.
- Type your spelling word list four times on a computer, with each typed in a different
font.
- Find and cut out each spelling word in a newspaper or magazine. Arrange letters to
spell each word; then glue letters to a sheet of paper.
20 POINT ACTIVITIES:
-Write a story using all the spelling words.
-Write each spelling word in a sentence. You may use more than one word in a sentence.
- Make up a riddle for each word, using 6 spelling words.
