Switch-Off Behaviour of 6.5 kV IGBT Modules in Two
Switch-Off Behaviour of 6.5 kV IGBT Modules in Two

... IGBT modules CT and CB together with the stray inductance LE and equivalent impedance of circuit ZTr-p form an oscillating RLC circuit (Fig. 9). CB and CT begin to charge and discharge. Voltage and current in this RLC circuit oscillates until being damped by RE and the voltage potential of point A b ...

Power semiconductor devices The difference between ideal switch

... Power diodes are made of silicon p-n junction with two terminals, anode and cathode. Diode is forward biased when anode is made positive with respect to the cathode. Diode conducts fully when the diode voltage is more than the cut-in voltage (0.7 V for Si). Conducting diode will have a small voltage ...

P–n diode

This article provides a more detailed explanation of p–n diode behavior than that found in the articles p–n junction or diode.A p–n diode is a type of semiconductor diode based upon the p–n junction. The diode conducts current in only one direction, and it is made by joining a p-type semiconducting layer to an n-type semiconducting layer. Semiconductor diodes have multiple uses including rectification of alternating current to direct current, detection of radio signals, emitting light and detecting light.
