Current Fluctuations in Hybrid-Superconductor Normal Structures
Current Fluctuations in Hybrid-Superconductor Normal Structures

... The formation of Cooper pairs and their condensation into a boson-like state in superconductors leads to an energy gap in the density of states of the superconductor. Subgap transport through electronic structures made of superconductors in contact to normal conducting materials is described by mean ...

... velocity of the pulses (Figure 1.2). In the frequency domain, such laser pulses form a comb of evenly spaced peaks separated by the fundamental mode ωR in the laser cavity, which can be used as a frequency ruler (Figure 1.3). Because the duration of each pulse τ from mode-locked lasers varies invers ...

... Magnetic pressure PB = B2 /8π is likely to impact the vertical density profile, at least for z h (here and subsequently, we use units such that B is measured in Gauss). No simple principle for predicting the strength or vertical variation of the magnetic field is known, so we turn to numerical sim ...

Theoretical and experimental justification for the Schrödinger equation

The theoretical and experimental justification for the Schrödinger equation motivates the discovery of the Schrödinger equation, the equation that describes the dynamics of nonrelativistic particles. The motivation uses photons, which are relativistic particles with dynamics determined by Maxwell's equations, as an analogue for all types of particles. This article is at a postgraduate level. For a more general introduction to the topic see Introduction to quantum mechanics.
