... eliminates triplen (3rd, 9th, 15th …) harmonics on the voltage waveform and is found to be the optimum design for trouble-free supply of non-linear loads. The 2/3 pitch design avoids excessive neutral currents sometimes seen with higher winding pitches, when in parallel with the mains. A fully conne ...

Brushless Motor Frequently Asked Questions 1. What is an outrunner motor?

... 'inrunner', and the armature (stator) of the motor rotates inside the motor while the outer case of the motor stays fixed. An 'outrunner' motor has an inner stator that is stationary, while the outer case rotates. This design allows relatively low RPM with very high torque, eliminating the need for ...

Stepper motor

A stepper motor or step motor or stepping motor is a brushless DC electric motor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps. The motor's position can then be commanded to move and hold at one of these steps without any feedback sensor (an open-loop controller), as long as the motor is carefully sized to the application in respect to torque and speed.Switched reluctance motors are very large stepping motors with a reduced pole count, and generally are closed-loop commutated.
