... The next component in line with the rotor is the gear box, or gear ratio. This gear box provides certain mechanical advantages which are desirable because of the general low velocity of the wind. In order to gain a suitable electrical energy output from our generator we will needs a relatively high ...

... VF increases from zero, the SCR conducts only a small forward current (IF ) which is due to leakage. As VF continues to increase, IF remains very low and almost constant but eventually a point is reached where IF increases rapidly and VF drops to a low value. – The VF value required to trigger this ...

... The steady state average current through the inductor is 1.17A The steady state rms current through the capacitor is 1.4Arms. Inductors are sized based on the max DC current. We would probably add some margin and pick an inductor that was at least capable of 2A, maybe more depending how conservativ ...

Stepper motor

A stepper motor or step motor or stepping motor is a brushless DC electric motor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps. The motor's position can then be commanded to move and hold at one of these steps without any feedback sensor (an open-loop controller), as long as the motor is carefully sized to the application in respect to torque and speed.Switched reluctance motors are very large stepping motors with a reduced pole count, and generally are closed-loop commutated.
