High voltage power supplies t in electrostatic applications
High voltage power supplies t in electrostatic applications

... resistor must be "paired" with a low value resistor to insure ratio tracking under changes of temperature, voltage, humidity and time. In addition, the high value of resistance in the feedback network means a susceptibility to very low current interference. It can be seen that currents as low as 1 ...

... They are similar to the symbol for a regular diode, except with extra lines added to suggest a “Z” (presumably for “Zener”). The cathode of a Zener diode is marked in the same way as the cathode of a regular diode. Zener diodes are similar to regular diodes in a number of respects. The difference is ...

Electrical ballast

An electrical ballast is a device intended to limit the amount of current in an electric circuit. A familiar and widely used example is the inductive ballast used in fluorescent lamps, to limit the current through the tube, which would otherwise rise to destructive levels due to the tube's negative resistance characteristic.Ballasts vary in design complexity. They can be as simple as a series resistor or inductor, capacitors, or a combination thereof or as complex as electronic ballasts used with fluorescent lamps and high-intensity discharge lamps.
