Transposable elements in Escherichia coli antimicrobial resistance
Transposable elements in Escherichia coli antimicrobial resistance

... Since they have the intrinsic ability to multiply during the transposition process, they are automatically amplified, with a large copy number, restricted only by the carrying capacity of their environment (i.e. the genome) [1]. Transposons often persist in genomes over millions of years. This requi ...

Next, the lobula and lobula plate (together called ...

Three distinct families of DNA methyltransferase genes, named Dnmt1, Dnmt2 and Dnmt3, have been identified in mammalian cells, but which DNA methyltransferase(s) is involved in the methylation of expanded CGG repeats is still unknown (52 ...

When solving genetic problems that involve sex-linkage, the symbols X and Y are used, but these differ from other genetic problems because X and Y are not symbols for genes, they represent whole chromosomes. Nutriepigenomics

Nutriepigenomics is the study of food nutrients and their effects on human health through epigenetic modifications. There is now considerable evidence that nutritional imbalances during gestation and lactation are linked to non-communicable diseases, such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, and cancer. If metabolic disturbances occur during critical time windows of development, the resulting epigenetic alterations can lead to permanent changes in tissue and organ structure or function and predispose individuals to disease.
