... is high. Using Ohm's Law: Current = Volts / Resistance, the current received is quite low. Getting wet decreases your resistance, therefore the current which flows is increased. This will kill you! The current must flow from one point of your body to the other (high potential to low potential). Bird ...

Meters and Combinations of Resistors
Meters and Combinations of Resistors

... Recall that to measure the voltage drop across a given resistor, you place a voltmeter in parallel with it. The resistance of the voltmeter should be large so that it does not change significantly the current through the resistor (and in turn the voltage drop across the resistor). Create a circuit c ...

Why is a three-phase alternating current used often for electric

... In a three-phase three-wire type distribution system electric current is sent with three wires from a three-phase electric power source. Electric power transmission lines and high voltage distribution systems adopted it, because of that effectiveness of electric power transmission per a wire. Event ...

Stray voltage

Stray voltage is the occurrence of electrical potential between two objects that ideally should not have any voltage difference between them. Small voltages often exist between two grounded objects in separate locations, due to normal current flow in the power system. Large voltages can appear on the enclosures of electrical equipment due to a fault in the electrical power system, such as a failure of insulation.
