... -Running a shielded wire from the volume pot wiper to the Pin7 of the 12AX7. Grounding the input properly is not so hard: replace the input jack with an insulated one and add a jumper wire on the PCB. While at it we can also remove R1 and replace it with a 1M resistor. This increases the input imped ...

V and R in parallel circuits

... Electrical circuits in homes are parallel circuits. 1. Each outlet has its own path. One can have something connected and be on, while another has nothing connected, or have something connected while turned off. 2 Every outlet sees the same voltage, because each outlet is connected to the same wire ...

How to Set Control Voltage In an Application Circuit

... This is the simplest way to lower the control voltage. In this method the voltage drop is simply proportional to the current drawn by the device, as a result the usual design consideration is whether it provides a stable enough bias point against current variation to ensure consistent PA performance ...

Metadyne

A metadyne is a direct current electrical machine with two pairs of brushes. It can be used as an amplifier or rotary transformer. It is similar to a third brush dynamo but has additional regulator or ""variator"" windings. It is also similar to an amplidyne except that the latter has a compensating winding which fully counteracts the effect of the flux produced by the load current. The technical description is ""a cross-field direct current machine designed to utilize armature reaction"". A metadyne can convert a constant-voltage input into a constant-current, variable-voltage output.
