... 1. In a typical MOSFET device there is always a trade-off between the on current and the output conductance and the channel doping. Low channel doping is required to get more inversion layer electrons, but that can lead to large output conductance and punchthrough effect. To prevent the punch-throug ...

... Explain what DC stands for and what it means. Define what a good source of DC would be. Now that we have a fairly good understanding of basic electricity terms and concepts, let's take a closer look at some more details of the electrical current itself. The battery we have been using for a current/v ...

... substitute 2q in the kT/”q” term of the Nernst equation. • The Nernst voltage is reduced by a factor of 2! • Think of it this way: in the same E field a Ca++ ion will experience twice the force as a K+ ion. Therefore half the field strength would be needed to exert the same force on Ca++. ...

Metadyne

A metadyne is a direct current electrical machine with two pairs of brushes. It can be used as an amplifier or rotary transformer. It is similar to a third brush dynamo but has additional regulator or ""variator"" windings. It is also similar to an amplidyne except that the latter has a compensating winding which fully counteracts the effect of the flux produced by the load current. The technical description is ""a cross-field direct current machine designed to utilize armature reaction"". A metadyne can convert a constant-voltage input into a constant-current, variable-voltage output.
