Relaying Short Lines - GE Grid Solutions Online Store

... It can be seen from Table I that as the ratio of source impedance to line impedance increases, a direct tripping overcurrent unit becomes less effective. When the ZS/ZL ratio is larger than 4, the direct trip can not be set with the typical 125 percent margin. Fault resistance and arc resistance typ ...

... are used to create a common-mode voltage (VCM) of approximately +2.5V to bias the inputs of the driving amplifier. Using the OPA681 on a single +5V supply, its ideal common-mode point is +2.5V. This coincides with the recommended common-mode input level for the ADS831 thus, obviating the need for a ...

Metadyne

A metadyne is a direct current electrical machine with two pairs of brushes. It can be used as an amplifier or rotary transformer. It is similar to a third brush dynamo but has additional regulator or ""variator"" windings. It is also similar to an amplidyne except that the latter has a compensating winding which fully counteracts the effect of the flux produced by the load current. The technical description is ""a cross-field direct current machine designed to utilize armature reaction"". A metadyne can convert a constant-voltage input into a constant-current, variable-voltage output.
