... Basic Band Pass Filters A Band Pass Filter allows a specific range of frequencies to pass, while blocking lower and higher frequencies. It passes frequencies between two cut-off frequencies while attenuating frequencies outside the cut-off frequencies. A good application of a band pass filter is in ...

... The integrator is also realized as a digital integrator or a summer (the Kph/(1-z^-1) block). Use an IIR filter block for this. The gain Kph should be selected such that if the data is a single symbol of 1, the steady state integrated value should be /2, as we explained in class. The cos and sin bl ...

... A high-pass filter is a filter that passes high frequencies well, but attenuates (or reduces) frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency. The actual amount of attenuation for each frequency varies from filter to filter. It is sometimes called a low-cut filter; the terms bass-cut filter or rumble fi ...

Bi-wiring and bi-amping

... Most B&W speakers are provided with two pairs of speaker terminals; this allows you to either bi-wire or biamplify them. A gain-transfer characteristic of an active filter is practically independent of the load the filter works for and a source that controls the filter. Non-inductive filters. To design a ...

Audio crossover

Audio crossovers are a class of electronic filter used in audio applications. Most individual loudspeaker drivers are incapable of covering the entire audio spectrum from low frequencies to high frequencies with acceptable relative volume and absence of distortion so most hi-fi speaker systems use a combination of multiple loudspeaker drivers, each catering to a different frequency band. Crossovers split the audio signal into separate frequency bands that can be separately routed to loudspeakers optimized for those bands.Active crossovers are distinguished from passive crossovers in that they divide the audio signal prior to amplification. Active crossovers come in both digital and analog varieties. Digital active crossovers often include additional signal processing, such as limiting, delay, and equalization.Signal crossovers allow the audio signal to be split into bands that are processed separately before they are mixed together again. Some examples are: multiband dynamics (compression, limiting, de-essing), multiband distortion, bass enhancement, high frequency exciters, and noise reduction such as Dolby A noise reduction.
