Synopsis of linear associative algebra. A report on its natural

... 6 SYNOPSIS OF LINEAR ASSOCIATIVE ALGEBRA We find the first such general treatment in Hamilton's theory1 of sets. The first extensive attempt at development of algebras in this way was made by Benjamin Peirce2. His memoir was really epoch-making. It has been critic- ally examined by Hawkes3, who has ...

... same way. But we will discuss here only for the multiplication of two numbers. In Bino’s Model of multiplication we will use a different way of variable representation for numbers. Here instead of representing any multi-digit number by a variable, we will represent a multi-digit number by a multi-va ...

Classical Hamiltonian quaternions

William Rowan Hamilton invented quaternions, a mathematical entity in 1843. This article describes Hamilton's original treatment of quaternions, using his notation and terms. Hamilton's treatment is more geometric than the modern approach, which emphasizes quaternions' algebraic properties. Mathematically, quaternions discussed differ from the modern definition only by the terminology which is used.
