... The changing magnetic field creates an electric field (which produces the EMF) It turns out that likewise, a changing electric field produces a magnetic field. This process can continue indefinitely… Light is an oscillating electric-magnetic field propagating through free space. ...

INDUCTOR An inductor, also called a coil or

... An inductor, also called a coil or reactor, is a passive two-terminal electrical component which resists changes in electric current passing through it. It consists of a conductor such as a wire, usually wound into a coil. When a current flows through it, energy is stored temporarily in a magnetic f ...

... - The higher the voltage, the greater the energy for the electrons to leave. Analogy: Electric flow is similar to water flow. A waterfall, for example, provides a lot of energy when water flows down. We would say that it has a high voltage. - Be careful! If you use too much voltage, you might break ...

Opto-isolator

In electronics, an opto-isolator, also called an optocoupler, photocoupler, or optical isolator, is a component that transfers electrical signals between two isolated circuits by using light. Opto-isolators prevent high voltages from affecting the system receiving the signal. Commercially available opto-isolators withstand input-to-output voltages up to 10 kV and voltage transients with speeds up to 10 kV/μs.A common type of opto-isolator consists of an LED and a phototransistor in the same opaque package. Other types of source-sensor combinations include LED-photodiode, LED-LASCR, and lamp-photoresistor pairs. Usually opto-isolators transfer digital (on-off) signals, but some techniques allow them to be used with analog signals.
