... The restriction that the input must be greater than 100 mV raises a potential problem for high impedance signals that are ground-referenced, i.e., AIN(–) = 0 V. Since there are two buffers available, there is a solution. The AD7708/AD7709/AD7718 uniquely address this issue by allowing the buffer on ...

... PWM and filter acts just like a DAC. Alternatively, if we switch the current flowing in an inductive load, below right, then the inductance has an averaging effect on the current flowing through it. This is important, as the windings of any motor are inductive, so we can use this technique for motor ...

... All parts contain one driver and one receiver and feature a 1/8-unit-load receiver input impedance, allowing up to 256 transceivers on the bus. The MAX1481/ MAX1485 feature reduced-slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, allowing error-free ...

... sag generator; if the load is a 10kVA load, at least 60kVA must be available from the sag generator. Insufficient available current gives false positive results: equipment that fails with real-world sags will incorrectly pass with sag-generator sags. For this reason it is generally not possible to c ...

The criterion is whether there is an “obvious” feedback circuit. At RF and microwave frequencies, it becomes difficult to construct a feedback circuit wit ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
