... In low power, slower throughput applications (such as 10 kSPS or lower that must use a low power reference), a small series resistor can be used between the output of the reference to the ADC, for example, 10 Ω may suit. In a burst mode of operation, the first few conversions may need to be discarde ...

... Fig 12. represents non inverting amplifier. In this, the voltage gain directly proportional to gm, which makes current (voltage) control of the gain via Ib straightforward. Furthermore, observe that a differential amplifier can be easily obtained by using both input terminals of the OTA in Fig.11 or ...
Exploring Electric Circuits Using a Water Analogy
Exploring Electric Circuits Using a Water Analogy

... Properties of electric circuits such as current, potential, resistance and the relationships among them are often taught using a water analogy. Water circuits provide an excellent comparison to simple electric circuits, but few students have experience with fluid dynamics. This lab allows a hands-on ...

Short guide to working out cable sizes

... The more correction factors we apply, the larger the value of It will be and hence the larger the size of cable we will require. Consequently, it is advantageous to avoid having to apply correction factors where possible by, such measures as, avoiding grouping of cables and avoiding contact with the ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
