Early rainfall estimates (RFE 1.0) are available for the period from 1995 to 2000 and were derived from a combination of Meteosat 5 (satellite infrared data) and daily rain gauge data extracted from the WMO’s Global Telecommunication System (GTS) data. In 2001, the RFE 1.0 was replaced by ...

In this third Oregon Climate Assessment Report (OCAR3), we build on the previous two assessment reports (Dalton et al., 2013; Dello and Mote, 2010) by summarizing recent published literature between 2013 and 2016 on climate change science and impacts as it relates to the state of Oregon. The breadth ...

Instrumental temperature record

The instrumental temperature record shows fluctuations of the temperature of earth's climate system. Initially the instrumental temperature record only documented land and sea surface temperature, but in recent decades instruments have also begun recording ocean temperature. Data is collected from thousands of meteorological stations around the globe and through satellite observations. The longest-running temperature record is the Central England temperature data series, that starts in 1659. The longest-running quasi-global record starts in 1850.
