... of A. The numbers s1 , . . . , sr are called singular values and the vectors x1 , . . . , xr and y1 , . . . , yr are called right and left singular vectors, respectively. The singular values s1 , . . . , sr of an operator A are uniquely determined, up to their ordering. Hereafter we will assume, wit ...

... The system of the ice skater does not have any net external torque applied to her. Therefore the angular momentum is conserved for her system. By pulling her arm inward, she reduces the moment of inertia (Smr2) and thus in order to keep the angular momentum the same, her angular speed has to increas ...

... Java operator precedence is how Java determines which operator to evaluate first. In this chart, operator precedence is displayed from highest precedence to lowest precedence. Java has lots of operators. I colored the ones we want to know in CS1500 by green. By the end of CS1500 we may learn some mo ...

Tensor operator

""Spherical tensor operator"" redirects here. For the closely related concept see spherical basis. In pure and applied mathematics, particularly quantum mechanics and computer graphics and applications therefrom, a tensor operator generalizes the notion of operators which are scalars and vectors. A special class of these are spherical tensor operators which apply the notion of the spherical basis and spherical harmonics. The spherical basis closely relates to the description of angular momentum in quantum mechanics and spherical harmonic functions. The coordinate-free generalization of a tensor operator is known as a representation operator
